This week

So far this week has been ok. I was kind of stressed out on Monday because I got to my night class late because I had to go to a meeting with my boss that I didn't want to. I was embarrassed because everyone was already taking the quiz and here I was, running to class late and out of breath.

Yesterday wasn't too bad. At least I didn't have to work. I had an Advanced Financial Mgmt test that I think I did pretty well on. I have a tax test tomorrow, but I'm not really worried about it because it's over personal compensation and retirement planning which I already know a great deal about from my job experience.

The only class I have today is my musical theater class and we've been watching the musical Oklahoma. It's a cute musical. Every 5 minutes they burst into song which is a little annoying. At least the story is pretty good even though it's cliche. Nice boy likes girl, girl doesn't like nice boy, girl agrees to go to dance with sleezebag, sleezebag harrasses her, nice boy saves the day, girl likes nice boy, girl and nice boy get married, the end. I also got my test back today and I got an 84, which isn't terrible. I've done well on everything else, so I'm not worried.

Today I have a Senior Fair to go to at 3. I get to order my cap, gown, diploma, invitations, and all that crap. At least I'll get away from work for an hour or so. I've actually been kind of bored at work lately. I've gotten most of my stuff done and have plenty of time left. It sucks though because soon we'll be doing quarterly reviews again and so that will be a lot of work. April is going to be a hell of a month for me. Projects, papers, tests, group projects, not to mention work, getting ready for graduation and my personal life.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, I just had time to ramble during my lunch break.

Group projects are Satanistic

If you don't want to hear me rant, then just ignore this post. There, I warned you.

Group projects really suck ass! Last night I went to a meeting from 8-10:30. The only thing we did was edit 3 pages of our paper. It was such a waste of time. It took 2.5 hours to edit 3 pages, that's absurd. We have to meet again tonight at 7. Hopefully the meeting tonight won't take as long, but it's just annoying. I had like no time last night to work on my part of the project either and today I won't have much time either. I have class till 2, then work from 2:30 till at least 5:30, usually 6. So I have an hour to eat supper and somehow get my part done before 7. GRRR!!!!!!!!! It just sucks because I didn't want to take 16 hours my last semester. I'm overworked so much. I guess I should start doing crap on the weekends, but I see the weekends as free time. I just hate school. Thank God it's almost over. Only 7 weeks left.

New tires

Some people think I need to get new tires soon. My Dad doesn't seem to think I need them right away. All my tires failed the penny test if you know what that is, if not, I can explain it to you or you can look it up yourself. Anyway, I went to Discount Tire and Pep Boys and a few other places and the cheapest ones I have found are around $360-$400 total. That is a lot of freakin money for tires. I think I could wait another 3-6 months, but some people keep bothering me about it and say it's unsafe. My tires aren't bald or anything either. I don't think it's necessary to spend that kind of money that I don't have right now.

Rangers

My Dad asked me if I wanted to go to the Rangeres home opener on Monday, April 11 at 1:05. I kind of want to go, but I'm supposed to be working that day. I guess I could ask my boss if I could work Tuesday instead of Monday. I don't usually work Tuesday's, but it would be nice to go to the game. Also, I don't want my boss to start saying stuff like, "dur, I just hired you a few months ago and you're wanting to make all these changes to your schedule, dur dur dur, the game isn't that important, we're in the middle of quarterly reviews (my busiest time of the year)." I dunno. I really would like to go, I haven't gone to a home opener in a long long time. It would be cool. What do yall think I should do?

Which Care Bear are you?

I'm Grumpy Bear

You are always complaining about something, especially about always having to do all the work, and make the easiest things difficult. Your grumbling can go too far and really hurt those around you. Even though you can be hard to deal with, others like you anyways because you are mysteriously charming and cute when you're mad. You are good at fixing things and are willing to take on large tasks...with a little grumbling of course!

Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy X is probably the best role playing game I've ever played, if not the best game period I've ever played. There are several reasons for this:

1. Very good story
2. Funny, interesting, and complex characters
3. Great graphics
4. Awesome music
5. Nice environments (underwater levels, thunder plains, woods, deserts, cliffs, and cities)
6. It is still enjoyable even though I've completed the game several times

Anyway, I'm sure there are other reasons, but those are the main ones. Final Fantasy X is very very good; I highly suggest you give it a try.

By the way, FFX-2 (the direct sequel to FFX) is not near as good as FFX, so I wouldn't waste your time with it. I rented it for a week and I couldn't even finish the game. It was a lot more complicated to play than FFX.

Winding down

I'm so glad that spring break is almost here. I have a paper due tomorrow in Musical Theater, but it probably won't take too long to write. I also have a Cost Accounting test on Thursday, but I don't think it will be bad either since I'm going to a review today and it's only over 3 chapters anyway.

After spring break though, I will have a couple of group projects to work on and I will have more crap to do. I need to order my cap & gown and diploma soon.

What does everyone have planned for spring break? I'm going to work the first half of the week full time and then have the rest of the week off. I'll probably play FFX or Sim City a little bit, relax, and do a couple of errands that have been waiting to be done for a long time.

Big plans after graduation?

Well, I graduate in like 2 months; it's coming up fast. I've been trying to think of something really fun to do after I graduate. A lot of people have told me they're going on a cruise, or on a nice long trip or something awesome. I think I deserve to do something great for all my hard work in school. I'd really like to go on a cruise like near Cancun or something. Flying somewhere out of state for like 4-5 days would be awesome too. The problem is that I don't know of anyone to go with me. For one thing, it could possibly cost a lot of money, even if it's split 4 ways. It would be really nice if my parents would pay for it for me as a graduation present. I don't know if they're planning on getting me anything or doing anything for me. Even if they paid for just some of it, that would be cool, but I'm not counting on that.

Another thing is that some people are already going on a big trip in the summer, so they won't want to spend any more money to go on a trip with me, which sucks. I guess another problem would be the fact that I'm a girl and most of my friends are guys and for some reason people seem to have a problem with the idea of me sharing a hotel room with my guy friends even though most of them are just like brothers to me.

So, that pretty much leaves Troy and a few other friends I have. I think Troy would be up for doing something, but I don't know about the others. I wish that I could plan a big trip to New York or Florida or something and take 3 other people, but I just don't see that happening. A cruise isn't cheap either. This sucks.

I don't want to just go on some day trip to some stupid city in Texas that I've already been to or to some run down ghost town in Texas. I want to get out of Texas for a change. I haven't been outside of Texas since I went to Las Vegas like 3 years ago.

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas of what I could do?

Rage Against the Machine

I haven't bought much music at all lately. In fact, I don't remember the last cd I bought for myself. I suppose it would have to be Elton John's Greatest Hits, and I got that well over a year ago I think. Anyway, so I was looking on BMG trying to find something. I had two free cds because of music points I have accumulated over the past two years. So, I bought Rage Against the Machine's Renegades. Yeah, I know it's not one of their better albums, and I already have two Rage cds, but I dunno, I've always kind of liked Renegades. Every couple of months I wish I had it and I ask Adam if I can borrow his. It was kind of impulsive, but I've had it on my (short) list of cds to get for a long time.

The only other cd that I've kind of wanted for a while is Loretta Lynn's Greatest Hits. Actually, I also wouldn't mind having some REM and Radiohead, I just don't know which albums to get. I don't really want to get something Troy already has because I can just borrow his cds if I want to listen to them, so I'd like to get something different, but I don't know which album I would get. Any suggestions on what REM or Radiohead cd to get or any other ideas for cds I could get with my last free cd?

coloring book

Recently, Troy and I have been trying to think of creative things to do while spending time together. He suggested writing short stories, reading, drawing, or coloring. I'm not too big on writing or reading, but coloring really appealed to me. I used to color when I was little (or so my mom says) and I would always try to stay within the lines. Mom said I always did a better job at coloring than my sister.

So, anyway, I went to Walgreens last weekend and bought a Care Bear coloring book. So far, I've only colored one page, but I enjoyed it, so I will probably continue coloring in it when I have time or when I want to take a break from studying. The problem is, I don't have that many crayons. I know we have a big box of like 96 somewhere in the house, but I can't find them, so I'm stuck with the basic colors that I did happen to find. Oh well. It's nice to do something you used to do in your childhood.

Oh, and the reason I got a Care Bear coloring book is that I didn't really see any other books that I liked very much and I have an old Funshine Care Bear that I've had since I was like 2, so I like Care Bears.
