coloring book

Recently, Troy and I have been trying to think of creative things to do while spending time together. He suggested writing short stories, reading, drawing, or coloring. I'm not too big on writing or reading, but coloring really appealed to me. I used to color when I was little (or so my mom says) and I would always try to stay within the lines. Mom said I always did a better job at coloring than my sister.

So, anyway, I went to Walgreens last weekend and bought a Care Bear coloring book. So far, I've only colored one page, but I enjoyed it, so I will probably continue coloring in it when I have time or when I want to take a break from studying. The problem is, I don't have that many crayons. I know we have a big box of like 96 somewhere in the house, but I can't find them, so I'm stuck with the basic colors that I did happen to find. Oh well. It's nice to do something you used to do in your childhood.

Oh, and the reason I got a Care Bear coloring book is that I didn't really see any other books that I liked very much and I have an old Funshine Care Bear that I've had since I was like 2, so I like Care Bears.

that's cool. have you ever considered mixing the crayons to make new colors (i don't know if that really works) or using something other than crayons to color with? it might be fun is all. but indeed, the simple pleasure of coloring is a good one. it's what most of my "drawings" really are ;)
