Rage Against the Machine
I haven't bought much music at all lately. In fact, I don't remember the last cd I bought for myself. I suppose it would have to be Elton John's Greatest Hits, and I got that well over a year ago I think. Anyway, so I was looking on BMG trying to find something. I had two free cds because of music points I have accumulated over the past two years. So, I bought Rage Against the Machine's Renegades. Yeah, I know it's not one of their better albums, and I already have two Rage cds, but I dunno, I've always kind of liked Renegades. Every couple of months I wish I had it and I ask Adam if I can borrow his. It was kind of impulsive, but I've had it on my (short) list of cds to get for a long time.
The only other cd that I've kind of wanted for a while is Loretta Lynn's Greatest Hits. Actually, I also wouldn't mind having some REM and Radiohead, I just don't know which albums to get. I don't really want to get something Troy already has because I can just borrow his cds if I want to listen to them, so I'd like to get something different, but I don't know which album I would get. Any suggestions on what REM or Radiohead cd to get or any other ideas for cds I could get with my last free cd?

REM's "Automatic for the People" is easily the one to get of theirs, unless troy already has it.
That's the problem, Troy already has "Automatic for the People." I guess I could get it anyway, but I dunno. I'd rather not get something he already has.
REM's Murmur is supposedly very good.
Radiohead's OK Computer is supposedly their best, though I don't like it as much as The Bends, which is the one that I have.
REM (if not "AFTP") get "Document" or a greatest hits. "Murmur" is really good but i don't think it'd be up your alley as much as their other albums.
Radiohead get "OK Computer" no question. I mean, "The Bends" is good, too, but since troy has it already...
Loretta Lynn, i'm sure a greatest hits would be fine, but i can also strongly recommend "Van Lear Rose" which features all songs written and sung by Loretta Lynn and the production and guitar work of Jack White.

"i accidentally touched my head
and i noticed it was bleeding"
the flaming lips, the spark that bled (from the album "The Soft Bulletin" which you might want to check out also)
branch out, move away from modern pop rock, get some Jimmy Buffett. "Songs You Know By Heart."
Wow, thanks for responding everyone. I wasn't expecting near this many comments. I didn't even know that you knew about my page Bryan, that's cool though. Thanks for the input everyone, I'll definately consider trying Wilco, Black Sabbath, Ray Charles, Jimmy Buffet, and that new Loretta Lynn cd. I'll have to think about all of this, I have no idea what I want to get now. Can I borrow a Wilco cd from you Bryan? I don't know anyone else that has one, except maybe Andy and he's not here now.
Ok, thanks Bryan, that's very nice of you to do. :-)
I have Wilco too, but I'm not around either. it's good though, I'd recommend any Wilco you can get your hans on.
i third the wilco motion.
