Paulie Concert

I went to see Paul McCartney last night in Dallas at the AA Center and it was pretty cool. I think the concert he did 3 years ago was probably slightly better, but I dunno. He did a lot of mellow songs during the middle hour that he didn't do last time. He played my absolute favorite songs - "I'll Follow the Sun", "Good Day Sunshine", "I Will", "Blackbird", and "Yesterday". I actually cried when Paul started to play "I'll Follow the Sun." He also did four songs from his new album "Chaos & Creation."

He talked more inbetween songs this time than last time, which was cool. I can't say that the sound was very good though. At first, the bass was way too high. They seemed to fix that problem, but I couldn't hear him that clearly all night. I mean, I didn't go to hear some bozos play guitar or drums, I came to hear Paul sing and I could barely hear him for all the other loud instruments.

It was still pretty awesome. I kind of wanted a program, but the lines were really long before and after the show. I didn't want to miss the start of the show, so I gave up and then afterwards it was a zoo. I looked on the website to try to find the program, but I don't think they have the same one they were selling last night. I did find a rhinestone babydoll shirt that I kind of want. Unfortunately its $40 and that is a lot of money to spend... I guess Christmas is coming up, so it would be cool to get that since I don't know what else I want.

It will probably be the last time I see Paulie in my lifetime. I talked Troy into going with me like 6 months ago and he went begrudgingly. I'm really glad I went though. It's always cool to see him do "Live & Let Die." The pyrotechnics seemed to be cooler and louder this time. The seats weren't too bad - probably a little overpriced at $85 plus surcharges and crap. But when you think about it, that's only like 50 cents a minute. He performed for 2 hours and 40 minutes. It was awesome, I only wish I could have been closer to the stage and gotten a program.
